How you express gratitude speaks volumes.

When was the last time you received anything special in your snail mail? What was your reaction?

I ordered the lucky cat cup pictured below from an artist named Cary Lane in Washington. Opening the box was magical. Inside I discovered, besides the cat, a thank you card and tiny bookmarks designed by the artist as well as a poem she had written. Cary could have simply mailed the cup but her inclusion of something personal made it special.

I can tell you without a doubt that incorporating a handwritten note, a signed book or something that speaks to the recipient in a very personal way, will make a huge difference in the stewardship of your donors and of your relationships in general.

The best gifts are those made by artists.
